This one-day hike takes you on an exhilarating journey through the scenic landscapes of Nepal, starting from Pokhara and exploring the Australian Base Camp, Dhampus Village, and Phedi before returning to Pokhara. The adventure combines stunning mountain views, cultural immersion, and a moderate-level trekking experience. It offers a taste of Nepal’s natural beauty and cultural heritage within a short timeframe.
Enjoy a scenic drive from Pokhara to Kande, which takes approximately 1 hour. Admire the picturesque views of Pokhara Valley and the surrounding hills during the drive.
Embark on a hike from Kande to the Australian Base Camp, which is situated at an elevation of around 1,980 meters (6,496 feet). The hike usually takes about 2 to 3 hours, depending on your pace and rest breaks. The trail gradually ascends through forests and offers stunning views of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri mountain ranges.
Continue your hike from the Australian Base Camp to Dhampus Village, situated at an elevation of approximately 1,700 meters (5,577 feet). The hike typically takes around 1 to 2 hours. Enjoy the scenic trail as it winds through charming Gurung villages, terraced fields, and rhododendron forests. Dhampus Village provides panoramic views of the Annapurna range and offers insights into the local culture. Dhampus Village will also be our lunch point.
After exploring Dhampus Village and having lunch, we will descend to Phedi, situated at an elevation of about 1,130 meters (3,707 feet). The hike usually takes around 1 to 2 hours. Experience the changing landscapes as you pass through traditional settlements, terraced fields, and forests. Enjoy interactions with the locals and immerse yourself in the rural ambiance.
Conclude your day hike with a drive from Phedi back to Pokhara, which takes approximately 30 minutes. Relax and reflect on the memorable experiences of the day as you return to the vibrant city of Pokhara.
